Introducing songs of various genres through unique a cappella arrangements and already known as UCC stars on YouTube, the contemporary a cappella group EXIT releases their first digital single 'The Girl at the Cigarette Store' since their formation.

The a cappella group EXIT is a 5-member a cappella group gathered from seniors and juniors of the Yongmoon High School choir who had been making music together since their high school days, newly organized the group as the a cappella group EXIT in 2006, and won the Grand Prize at the 2009 Korea A Cappella Competition.

The first thing the public says upon listening to the songs of the a cappella group EXIT is the question, 'Is this song really a cappella?' Music that, upon hearing once, is utterly unbelievable to be made up solely of human voices. They spent a lot of time together focusing on practice, and finally reveal the results to the world in 2012.

The a cappella group EXIT's first digital single 'The Girl at the Cigarette Store' is a song included in the 3rd album released by C'est Si Bon's Song Chang-sik; 13 years after the Seoul National University alumni a cappella group In Gong Wi Seong (Satellite), which popularized the a cappella genre domestically, released an a cappella version album in 1999, the a cappella group EXIT has newly reborn it into an a cappella version fit for the digital generation.

This single, created by EXIT's unique funky and exciting groove, flawless harmony, and structured arrangement, is praised for succeeding in creating a full sound to the extent that it is hard to believe it comes from the voices of only 5 people.

In this single, Kim Min-soo, leader of the co-ed a cappella group Voiture and a representative producer in the domestic a cappella scene, participated in producing; through numerous meetings with EXIT members to maintain the original song's color while simultaneously expressing a different feeling, they succeeded in imbuing a musical color not commonly shown in conventional a cappella music. The varied rhythms of the bass and vocal percussion led the music into a funkier groove, and diverse elements such as brass sounds, guitar sounds, and radio effects came together to create the 'New Girl at the Cigarette Store.'

Applauding with encouragement that such an a cappella group has finally emerged in Korea, all eyes are on their future steps.

여러 장르의 노래를 독특한 Acappella 편곡으로소개하여 Youtube에서는 이미UCC스타로 통하는 컨텐포러리 아카펠라그룹 엑시트(EXIT)가 결성 이후 처음으로 디지털 싱글<담배가게 아가씨>를공개한다.

아카펠라그룹 엑시트(EXIT)는 용문고등학교 합창단 출신 선후배들로 모인 5인조 아카펠라그룹으로 고등학교 시절부터 함께 음악을 해오다가, 2006년 아카펠라그룹 엑시트(EXIT)로 그룹을 새롭게 구성하여 2009년 한국아카펠라대회에서 대상을 수상 하였다.

아카펠라그룹 엑시트(EXIT)의 노래를 듣고 대중들이 먼저 하는 말은 “이 노래가 정말 아카펠라야?” 라는 질문이다. 한번 듣고는 도저히 인간의 목소리로만 이루어져있다고 믿을 수 없는 음악. 그들은 많은 시간을 함께 보내며 연습에 집중하였고 그 결과를 2012년 드디어 세상에 공개한다.

아카펠라그룹 엑시트(EXIT)의 첫번째 디지털 싱글<담배가게 아가씨>는 쎄시봉 송창식이 발표한 3집 앨범 수록곡으로국내에 아카펠라 장르를 대중적으로 알렸던 서울대 출신 아카펠라 그룹 인공위성이 1999년이 아카펠라 버전으로 앨범을 발매한 이후, 13년만에 아카펠라그룹 엑시트(EXIT)가 디지털 세대에 맞는 아카펠라 버전으로 새롭게 탄생시켰다.

엑시트(EXIT) 특유의 펑키하고 신나는 그루브와, 완벽한 하모니, 그리고 짜임새 있는 편곡이 만들어낸 이번 싱글은 5명만의 목소리라고는 느끼기 힘들 정도로 꽉 찬 사운드를 만들어내는데 성공했다는 평이다.

이번 싱글에는 국내 아카펠라계의 대표 프로듀서인 혼성아카펠라그룹 보이쳐 리더 김민수씨가 프로듀싱에 참여하였으며, 엑시트 멤버들과 함께 원곡의 색깔을 그대로 유지함과 동시에 또다른 느낌을 표현하기 위해많은 시간 회의를 통해 평소 아카펠라 음악에서 보여주지 않는 음악적 색깔을 입히는데 성공했다. 베이스와 보컬 퍼커션의 다양한 리듬은 음악을 좀 더 펑키한 그루브로 이끌어내었고, 여기에 브라스 사운드와 기타소리, 라디오 이펙트 등 다양한 요소들이 합쳐져 <新 담배가게 아가씨>가 만들어진 것이다.

국내에도 드디어 이런 아카펠라 그룹이 나왔다는 것에 대해 응원의 박수를 보내며 앞으로 이들의 행보에 귀추가 주목된다.
